Most beverage brands take themselves entirely too seriously.
There’s a particular type of soda brand design that’s everywhere now. Earnest. Botanical. Pretending to be a wellness product. Lots of muted pastels and a wordmark that whispers when it should be shouting.
Polka Pop is not that.
Polka Pop is what happens when a beverage brand remembers it’s supposed to be fun. Fizz, flavor, and a little bit of mischief in every can. Cold Brew n’ Pop. Rum n’ Pop. Orengitini. The names alone tell you the founders weren’t trying to win a Michelin star. They were trying to make something you’d actually want to drink at a party.
Our job at Studio OkCaramel was to make sure the brand looked the way the drink tasted. We partnered with Polka Pop on packaging, social content, and digital collateral, building a fizzy-first brand that looks as good online as it does in hand.
The range was designed as one family. Same brand energy, consistent cues, room to scale.
Most packaging falls apart at the third SKU. The founder launches two perfect cans, adds a third flavour six months later, and the system unravels. We didn’t want that.
So Polka Pop’s packaging was built as a system from day one. One layout architecture. One typographic hierarchy. A colour and flavour logic that lets every future SKU slot in without breaking the family. Line the range up on a shelf and they belong together. Pull one out and it still reads as Polka Pop.
This is what packaging design means when an agency takes it seriously. Not one beautiful can. A system that gets stronger every time the brand adds something to it.
Yes, Polka Pop is playful. But playful doesn’t mean unplanned.
Most playful brands confuse fun with a lack of system. The grid drifts. The voice wanders. The only thing tying it together is the founder’s mood that week.
We built Polka Pop’s social as a content engine, not a vibe board. Strong visual cues. Restraint where it matters. Templates that hold the grid together while still letting the brand sound like itself.
The voice did the rest. Cheeky, never cringe. Confident, never trying too hard. The kind of brand you’d actually follow.
Beverages on Amazon usually look like an afterthought. Stock photo of the can, a couple of bullets, conversion in the basement.
We treated Polka Pop’s Amazon presence the way we treat every listing. Like a shelf that has to do its own selling.
Thumbnails built to win the search grid. Secondary images that handle the customer’s actual questions. A+ content that translates the brand’s energy into something a shopper can scan in fifteen seconds.
A listing that looks like the brand, not the marketplace.
Packaging, website design, e-commerce design, Meta ads, Amazon, and social. All under one roof. One voice across every customer touchpoint.
For a fun-first, fast-moving brand, that matters. Every asset has to land in-character every time. The minute it stops, the brand starts to feel like someone else.
Polka Pop is fizz, fun, and a tightly built design system finally agreeing on a vibe.
Cans worth opening. Grids worth following. A brand worth pouring.
